wow what a long break! anyway, it’s been a week since disneyland and bf and i are having major withdrawals! this last trip was so relaxing (even if it was super busy on sunday) and i think it was due to the fact that we were able to ride majority of the rides back in september. we were, however, disappointed that space mountain was (read all about it here). i was really looking forward to riding it without ghost galaxy and i think the last time that happened for me was when it reopened after its long refurbishment back in 2005? oh well, another to-do list on my next trip!

this trip was more about relaxing, enjoying my time off with my most favorite person and EATING! basically, this was a food trip. lol. on to pictures!

day 1: the weather was not your typical socal weather. it felt like it never reached over 67, bf ended up buying hoodies for us because it was so chilly! we stayed at the hotel menage (about 2 min from the resort via ART) and everyone there was so friendly! unlike the disneyland hotel (they tried giving us a double. really?) they followed through with our request and was given a king and a view of the fireworks from our room! i was especially thankful considering fireworks were cancelled the next day (our first day in the parks!). once we settled we made our way to downtown disney for some beignets! yum!!! we walked around a bit and decided to head back to the hotel for some drinks and dinner.

day 2: i made sure to make reservations for cafe orleans since they cancelled our reservations in september. we finally got a chance to try the pomme frites and these were amazing! the remoulade was sooo delicious! we also ordered the monte cristo and topped it off with mickey beignets. no regrets! ride wait times were not bad, we were able to ride most of the major rides (and some of my favorites!) with little wait. i was especially looking forward to riding indiana jones and expecting a long wait but we walked right on. after, i wasn’t surprised. it just wasn’t what it used to be. we headed over to ca. adventure to ride 2 of my favorite rides (ariel’s undersea adventures and tow-mater’s junkyward jamboree lol) and bf’s toy story mania and california screamin’. we also stopped by the cozy cone and got our chilli cone queso and popcorn of the day: salt and vinegar! this was especially yummy. we headed back to claim a spot at the jolly holiday to watch the fireworks. unfortunately, it was sprinkling on and off that day, and they announced that the fireworks have been cancelled. boo. we decided to call it a night (we weren’t particularly fond of each other for awhile at this point, but we made up later. lol) and headed back to the hotel.

day 3: it was much busier on sunday. it seemed like there was a music/dance tour going on and there were lots of kids. also, all levels of annual pass holders were able to come today. we took all of this into consideration and we didn’t let it dampen our moods. radiator springs racers wait times never died down (not surprising) and thankfully we were able to get fast passes before they ran out (they ran out before 11am that day). RSR really wasn’t at the top of our ride to-do list but we had a voucher for a free 5×7 picture and RSR was one of the rides we could redeem it for. overall, i think i enjoy riding it in the day as opposed to night. we managed to watch aladdin both days and the i’m sooo glad we were able to see the magic carpet working! it sprinkled that day and i for sure thought that they were going to cancel the fireworks again so we hopped over to ca. adventure, grabbed a corn dog at corn dog castle (the best corndog ever!) and rode all the necessary rides (ariel’s undersea adventures and tow-mater’s junkyard jamboree. lol) and TMJJ lines finally died down due to world of color we decided to ride it 2 more times and the 2nd time the fireworks started. it was one of my most memorable moments! it was great swinging around, watching and hearing the fireworks. we said goodbye to ca. adventure and headed back to disneyland so we can relax and wait for fantasmic. fantasmic was amazing…if you haven’t seen it, i highly recommend it and if you can, reserve premium seating! it’s worth the $$$ and the hot chocolate they give you is so delicious, especially on a cold day like that weekend. the dessert/cheese and crackers platter is wonderful, too!

overall, our trip was a success. not to say our trip back in september wasn’t but we planned a bit more this time around and we knew what to expect. again, our focus was just to relax and not stress ourselves. lol. also, we knew when we booked this trip there was a possibility that the parks may be really busy. so we narrowed down the rides we really wanted to ride and we, thankfully, didn’t wait more than an hour for anything. i hope we can go back soon! …or plan a trip to WDW this time! 🙂

hope you all have a great weekend!

time is flying by so fast…i can’t believe we’re already saying goodbye to another month (i know february is a short month) and hopefully welcoming spring. it has been way too cold these past few days (ice on car windows kind of cold) and i’m over waiting for forever until my car defrosts so i can leave for work in the morning. 😖

i know it’s late but i completely forgot that i was planning on baking cupcakes for bf for valentine’s day! oops. so i decided to bake them the other day to give to him on our date day…aren’t the wrappers just the cutest?

i’ve also transferred the daises bf gave me into a smaller “vase” (cup) and placed them on my desk in my room. they make me smile!

lastly, i stopped by rite aid (this particular one hasn’t turned into cvs quite yet…and i hope it doesn’t! i don’t know what i’d do if i ever crave for thrifty ice cream and it isn’t readily available) after work to run a few errands and yes, peruse the beauty/makeup section (sneaky) and i found the ever so coveted wet n wild sugar plum fairy! when i first picked it up i was hoping it was the lipstick and to my surprise it was! yes, i searched high and low for this stupid lipstick and i couldn’t believe it was there. there were 3, even. so i knew i had to get it before it disappeared again. yay! maybe i’ll feel a little rebellious tomorrow and wear it to work. 😈

friday is just around the corner, the weekend is almost here and this week was almost perfect. it was very quiet this week and i wanted to take advantage of the quiet and low patient count because next week will bring the busy back and i’m not really looking forward to it to be honest 😐 but…i’m ready!

i hope you all have a wonderful weekend and as for me, i’m looking forward to spending time with bf and giving him lots of hugs and love because school is stressing him out!

until next time…!

love day

i’m not too much of a romantic (well, that’s probably false. i have my moments) and i really don’t like being the center of attention, ever. however, it is always nice to receive goodies, especially at work! the first time bf sent flowers to my work, i felt so special and it was really unexpected. this year i didn’t think he’d send flowers because i casually (at least to me lol) mentioned i would like something edible instead. haha. i was surprised he got me these pretty daises AND see’s chocolates (which are almost gone, as you can see). 🙂 totally made my day, since a few people i encountered that day were not feelin’ the love at all. after work bf came over and we went to the local pho place (the least sexiest and busiest place) to have our “valentine’s day” dinner. what more could i ask for, really? 🙂 ❤

since i requested friday off, we spent the day together. i guess you can call this a post valentine day date? i really enjoy “planned” days with bf because we rarely see each other (although, we are getting better with making time for each other) and when we do see each other, it’s just to hang out. which is fine, don’t get me wrong…any time spent with him is great but planned dates are exciting. especially when you plan to go to the egyptian museum! woohoo love and education!

i hope everyone is enjoying their (3 day?) weekend! i, unfortunately, injured my foot and will be taking it easy for the next few days…which may be a little difficult because i am itching to run. anyway, stay safe everyone!

oh. dear.
this work week was so bad (i had to put extra whipped cream and chocolate mallow in my hot chocolate). it was like a domino effect…one thing after another. i finally had a mini breakdown this morning after i took it out on bf. yikes. you never want to do that…but alas, i have done it. i really must try to be better.

anyway, it’ll be a better week, i promise. it’s already getting better because i decided to finally (after months) bake some cookies!
i was browsing the internet this morning and came across this recipe and since bf is a big fan of cookies, i decided to try it out. it turned out just fine but not nearly as cute as hers. lol. as long as it’s edible, i’m okay with it! bf and i don’t celebrate valentine’s day really, especially not on the day of. i did, however, take the 15th off so we’ve planned a few things that day. first we’ll have lunch at Island’s (woohoo for giftcards), then we’ll head over to the egyptian museum (woohoo education!) and dinner is still up in the air. we both have busy schedules so while it’s nice to lounge around, it’s also nice to have something planned out. keep the spark alive, you know? anyway, valentine’s day should be celebrated everyday!

lastly, since i was feeling down, i needed a quick pick me up. i was at target perusing the stationary aisle and my eyes wandered through the pen area. i’m a pen hoarder, so naturally i purchased a new set. they now live in my big mug of pens with tink.

hope you all are having a wonderful weekend and will have an even better week!

pink tights + red&gold cupcakes

this weekend was pretty eventful. once a year on a saturday, the company i work for holds an employee recognition dinner for all staff. this was my first year attending (i’ve been with them for a little over a year) and it was nice. it’s nice that our hard work is acknowledged and, i’m not going to lie, sometimes it feels like higher management don’t understand the things we go through every day. anyway…i took bf along and it looked like he had fun, too. too bad we didn’t win the raffle!
(please don’t mind the towels behind me, i was separating laundry)

today, obviously, was the superbowl. i’m not too into football, it was just never my thing but all my life i remember my family throwing superbowl parties. it was no different this year and because the niners were playing, it was huge. anyway, i’m not gonna talk about football because i don’t know anything about it, so to make things short: we lost and it was pretty emotional for a few people in the house. this is what i did with my time, though.
how cute are those cupcakes?

hope you all had a great weekend!

little things

it’s been a tough couple of weeks and i think it’s time to breathe, let go and start fresh. i kind of lost my way for a little bit and found myself regressing but i just need to remind myself to keep moving forward. anyway, some things that are keeping me sane?
food trips with two people i can fully indulge with (though these are rare!); bf and sister.

nothing cheers me up more than being with people i love and food trips. it’s the best combination: coversation, love and delicious eats!

pictures L-R: i have always been obsessed with painting my nails and the teal/gold combo has got to be my favorite. i’ve also been on a hot chocolate + whipped cream (in this case, extra heavy whipped cream) kick. obviously not healthy but it’s almost always in moderation. my desk makes me happy 🙂 the sweet macaron candle is just for looks, though. not a fan of the scent. lastly, i played bingo recently and it was really fun. long, but fun. people really take the game seriously and rightfully so, because winning means major $$$!

after reflecting, my life isn’t so bad. i’m grateful to have such a good support system. i also feel terrible for second guessing those i shouldn’t have second guessed in the first place. i hope i can learn to be better, to be more open and trusting.

to end on a lighter note:

bf and i 2009/2010? 🙂 stronger than ever.

it’s official! we’re less than 3 months away until our next vacation! woohoo! i think this trip will be less stressful since we know what we want to do and we aren’t focused on doing too much. i am, however, still mentally preparing myself for the crowds (like many people, i dont like super crowded places) but i know it’ll be okay…especially because i’ll be with my most favorite person. also, did i stress enough about how i’m really, really looking forward to finally watching the fireworks with my love? 🙂

disneyland 2013

i’m so excited to announce that we are currently planning our next disneyland trip! this time we will be celebrating my birthday (27, eep!) and bf’s graduation! i’m meeting with my trip advisor this friday and i am just so, so excited! especially because i’ll be going on a normal day (my last trips were when they had their halloween overlays). i hope to someday go in the winter. (:

it’s always nice to look forward to big events…especially when you’re stuck working a 9-5 or odd hours + going to school full time (like bf). it’s especially rewarding knowing that we’ve worked hard and a blessing that we’re fortunate enough to have jobs that allow us to plan these trips.

anyway, looking forward to FIREWORKS (finally…hoping!), dole whips, jalapeno cheese pretzels, beignets, turkey legs and monte cristos! more importantly, getting to spend a whole 3.5 days with my love ❤

shopping ban 2013

it’s 2013 and i am “officially” on a shopping ban! i went overboard last year (hey, this is my first “adult” job. i wanted to enjoy it and that i did) and i felt that this year i needed to put the brakes on the shopping. i did go for one last shopping trip and purchased these babies:
i really wanted a few gingham shirts (and you can never have enough cardigans. i mean, really) and saw that they were on sale at the outlets. i figured, why not get them now? the NM + target collection left little to be desired but i figured, at 70% off i couldn’t pass up some of the pieces. i am having a little trouble with the scarves, though. it does its job with keeping your neck really warm but it snags so easily. hm…

anyway, it’s 2013! the holiday season is winding down and it’s getting busy at work again. i’m in a strangely good mood, surprisingly. also, i think i’ve set realistic (short term) goals and resolutions for this year. i’m hoping to go through with them…or at least try.

i hope you all had a wonderful holiday…and will have an even better year. cheers!
